  • Widen your eyes  
  • Repeat five times
  • Complete five sets

2. The Chipmunk Cheek

Do this if you want your face to look fuller and rosier

  • Hold some air in your mouth, letting your cheeks puff outward. 
  • Move the air around – up and down, left and right
  • Repeat five times
  • Complete three sets

3. The Cheek Lift

Do this to lift your cheek muscles

  • Take your three center fingers – your ring finger, middle finger, and index – on each hand. Press down on your cheeks. 
  • Make a big smile while pressing down with your fingers to create resistance
  • Repeat five times
  • Complete five sets

4. The Binoculars Lift

Do this to help tighten forehead muscles

  • Make a circle around each eye with your thumb and index finger like a pair of glasses or binoculars. 
  • Keep your thumb below your eyes and index above your eyebrows 
  • Apply firm pressure to your eyebrows and pull down the skin on your forehead
  • Raise your eyebrows to create some restrictions and hold the position for four seconds to exercise your muscles
  • Repeat five times 
  • Complete three sets

Facial Exercises for Adults

For Saggy Skin

1. Fish Face

  • Suck in your cheeks as much as possible
  • Press two fingers – index and middle fingers – into the hollow space.
  • Hold for 20-30 seconds
  • Let go of your cheeks
  • Repeat five times
  • Complete three sets

2. Balloon Face

  • Inhale with your mouth and let your cheeks puff up
  • Hold the air in for 10 seconds
  • Close your mouth and place two fingers on your lips – index and middle finger
  • Press the air against your cheeks and with your lips closed
  • Hold for ten seconds
  • Repeat for five cycles

For a Toned Jawline

1. Jaw Stretching 

  • A double chin can make you look chubbier or older. To get a trim jawline, tilt your head backward until your eyes are looking straight up
  • Move your lower lip over your top lip. You’ll feel your jaw muscles work.
  • Hold this position for 10 seconds (you may start slow, three seconds, five seconds, or seven seconds)
  • Complete ten sets

2. The Blowfish

  • Close your mouth and blow out air into alternate cheeks
  • Move the air from cheek to cheek
  • Hold the air on each side for two seconds
  • Repeat for half a minute
  • Complete five cycles

3. Tongue Stretching

  • Extend your tongue out of your mouth as far as possible
  • Push it to one side
  • Hold for five seconds
  • Push it to the other corner of your mouth and hold again for 5 seconds
  • Complete five sets

Top Facial Exercise Tips For All Ages

1. You need to warm up

Warm up your face and muscles using the Piano Fingers exercise to get the blood flowing. Move your fingers across your face like you’re playing the piano. Do this gently with varying intensities. 

2. Prep Your Skin

After you warm up your skin, try the Animal Claws facial exercise. Stimulate your face by positioning your fingers like claws. Drag your fingers gently across your skin, massaging in an outward direction like you’re pulling your skin to the sides of your face.

3. Support your facial exercises with water

You should drink enough water to help your skin combat dryness and dullness. 

4. Get enough rest

4 Signs You Need A Facial Exercise Program

A facial exercise program is an excellent way to help improve the appearance of aging.

You may find as you get older, that your skin will not be as firm as in your younger years. You may also see fine lines and wrinkles start to appear in places you never suspected aging to occur.

The results of doing facial exercises can be subtle at first, but if you are consistent and perform them for a length of time, you will see a difference.

This article reveals that you can gain strength in your face in about a month’s time by exercising it about ten minutes a day. After around six months, you can look up to twenty years younger, according to the same article.

Let’s take a closer look at signs you should consider a facial exercise program:

1. Crows Feet

Over time, our faces and eyes make lots of tiny movements, which contribute to fine lines and wrinkles around the outside of the eyes. These lines are commonly referred to as crows feet.

This exercise doesn’t involve touching the face. Simply close your eyes. Make sure your eyelids are relaxed. Then quickly look up and down with your eyes closed, ten times.

2. A Facial Exercise Program For Sagging Jowls

As we get older, our skin becomes thinner and loses the natural plumpness we once had in our youth. Bone loss is also another factor that can contribute to sagging jowls down the sides of the mouth.

Tighten them up by holding your head back, pointing your chin up, as high as it will go. Extend lips and hold for five seconds. Repeat five times daily.

3. Forehead Wrinkles

Stress, sun exposure, age and genetics all play a part in the development of forehead wrinkles. These horizontal lines can start out faint and become much deeper over time.

An easy way to exercise these obnoxious lines away is by laying your head just over the side of the bed.

Next, open your eyes as wide as they can go, while simultaneously raising your eyebrows as far as they can. Hold this position for five seconds. Repeat five to ten times, while relaxing your face in between movements.

4. A Facial Exercise Program For Lip Wrinkles

Faint lines or deep wrinkles around the mouth are common as we get older. If you have been noticing a change in the texture of your skin in this area, try doing the “O” facial exercise that this article reveals.

All you have to do is cover your teeth with your lips and open your mouth as far it will go into an “O” shape. While doing this, smile as wide as you can, while keeping your teeth covered with your lips. Slowly go back to the original position and repeat six times.

Carolyn’s Facial Fitness is a facial exercise program that has been popular for many years. Carolyn Cleaves is currently aged 64, but looks to be in her early fifties. She previously worked as a teacher, and her understanding of the learning process is evident in her Facial Fitness DVD, as her instructions are clear and precise.
After finishing work as a teacher, Carolyn went on to run a number of businesses which included a clothing company. She also worked as an aerobics instructor for a while. Carolyn devised her program when she was in her fifties, and in her own words “my neck was ringed and wrinkled, my jowls made me look like a tired bulldog and the wrinkles on my face and especially my forehead were very, very deep.”

You may have also seen ads for her “Facial Magic” products on TV.
A clever and astute business woman, Cynthia Rowland has created a successful company called Renenuve Inc, and as well as selling her facial exercise book and video, she also offers a wide rage of excellent skin care creams and anti-aging lotions.
The Cynthia Rowland facial exercise range has recently expanded, as Cynthia has introduced the Luscious Lips Device which you place over your lips, and extend the vaccum pump. This brings blood into the lip area, and instantly puffs the lips out, giving them a more youthful appearance.
Facial Magic before and afterOn her website, Cynthia promotes her products in packs, which works out cheaper than buying each product individually. However, if you wanted to purchase Cynthia Rowland items without creams or other props, they can sometimes be found at a reasonable price on eBay.
Warning: If you want to learn Cynthia’s facial exercises you should purchase her DVD. She gives excellent instructions, and some of the exercises require exact finger placement to be effective. When executed correctly, Cynthia’s DVD exercise program is extremely powerful! However, her book “Facial Magic” does not offer instructions – it just talks about facial exercise and the benefits, so don’t buy the book alone if you wish to learn the routines.

Facercise by Carole Maggio

SiFacercise by Carole Maggionce 1983, Carole Maggio has sold many thousands of copies of  her “Facercise” program worldwide. The story of how Carole Maggio came to be one of the best-selling authors of facial exercise programs in an interesting one. As a 14-year old girl, Carole was in a lift with her mother and became transfixed by the unnatural appearance of a fellow passenger’s face. After they left the lift, her mother explained the woman had had cosmetic surgery that had not worked out. In spite of this teenage experience that remained in her mind, Carole had nose surgery herself at the age of 22. She was displeased with the result, and preferred her nose as it had been prior to the op.
By the early 80s, Carole Maggio was the owner of a successful beauty parlor in California. Although business was bustling and clients were very pleased with the treatments they received from Carole and her staff, she felt something was missing. As a result, she was constantly on the look out for the anti-aging holy grail.
When she was 36, Carole’s husband, who was 16 years her senior, told her she was aging badly. Needless to say she did not take this comment well, but it was the catalyst that led her to develop her facial muscle training program, which was later to become known as Facercise.
“Facercise” is a highly-acclaimed program that has been added to and revised several times over the years. Facercise exercises range from those that can be done anywhere and anytime, such as the “Nose Shortener” to the more complicated “Face Energizer” that is devised to de-stress the face and body.
Many of Carole’s exercises in the Facercise program can be performed lying down, and therefore the main part of your routine can be completed before you even get out of bed.
In addition, many of Carole’s Facercise exercises are unique from those recommended by other facial exercise gurus, as they involve an interesting mind-body connection. From my own experience, I can testify that this is very powerful.
In her Facercise book, Carole comes across as extremely likeable, and has a knack of making the reader feel like a friend – which helps with motivation that is often an issue when you follow a facial exercise program.
Facercise is available in book and DVD form, and Carole has also co-produced “Facebuilder for Men” which as the name implies, is a face exercise program designed especially for men.

FlexEffect by Deborah Crowley

Deborah Crowley, creator of FlexEffect, was a professional bodybuilder who became aware her face was showing signs of aging when she was aged Do Facial Exercises Work?about 30. Not happy with what she was seeing in the mirror, Deborah reasoned if she could keep her body young and supple by building and training the muscles, she should be able to apply the same principals to the muscles of the face.

Deborah practiced isometric exercises for a while, which are strength training exercises that do not increase muscle length while performing the exercise. Isometric exercises feature predominantly in the book “Face Lifting by Exercise For Women & Men Over Twenty-One” by Senta Maria Runge, which is mistakenly considered by many to be the first book written on facial exercising. Although she noticed improvement, Deborah was more familiar with strength resistance training, and decided to devise her own program of facial resistance training. This was the beginning of Flexeffect® Facial Resistance Training by Deborah Crowley.
In 2010, Deborah updated her program and launched FlexEffect Facialbuilding 3rd Edition, which had been eagerly awaited for by exisitng users of FlexEffect, as it includes two completely new anti-aging techniques. These are Jolting® for correcting facial bone atrophy and Cross Stretching® to help replace elastin and collagen.

The FlexEffect Program

The FlexEffect program consists of a 275 page book, a DVD, a training log and a CD. The book covers absolutely everything you need to know about facial exercise, an has an interesting forward by Mark E. McGovern M.D.,FACC, FACP. It is always welcome to read positive views concerning exercising the face from respected members of the medical profession, as so many involved in the cosmetic surgery field are quick to deny that facial exercises are extremely beneficial in keeping the face looking young.
FlexEffect
As well as describing in detail 30 exercises that target specific regions of the face, the FlexEffect book also contains comprehensive information on the two most recent facial toning methods that Deborah has devised; Jolting® and Cross Stretching®.
In addition, you will learn which supplements you should be taking for maximum cell renewal, and which topical agents you must use to achieve the best results possible.
This is probably the most complete facial exercise program on the market, and the only one that offers immediate customer support via a forum manned by Deb, her daughters, Claudia and Audrea, and several other certified FlexEffect trainers. This is invaluable, because as your training progresses and changes begin to be visible, you are very likely to have questions that you did not consider when starting out.
In the DVD, Deborah and her daughter Audrea demonstrate the correct way to perform FlexEffect exercises. The DVD provides a total of 49 resistance facial exercises targeting individual areas of the face and neck. The CD has a selection of two routines you can follow along to; one lasting for 20 minutes, and the other a 12-minute session for those that are in a hurry.
Last but not least, you are provided with a training log. This makes it easy to build up your own routine and track your progress. Furthermore, you will be able to easily see which areas you may be neglecting and therefore focus on those particular exercises.

FlexEffect Training Certification

As well as offering her FlexEffect program, Deborah also provides the opportunity to become An FIA Certified Trainer. There are several levels of certification which involve self-training for a specific time and the participation in a facial muscle knowledge forum.
Admirably, Deb is a facial exercise “guru” who has done much to promote the credibility of exercising the face by interviewing respected medical professionals and also funding a small study to prove the effectiveness of facial muscle training.
The Flex Effect website shows Deb’s photos, and at the age of 62, her appearance is quite remarkable. Through facial resistance training Deb looks at least 15 years younger. On the FlexEffect site, you can also see before and after pictures of others who have reversed signs of aging with the FlexEffect facial exercise program.
